They're cuddlers, really

Raezenoth has just won a war. Well, he'd actually won it a while ago, but now is when things have settled and the divine borders have become a bit more set in stone. The leftovers of that annoying nature god are cleared away to become part of another god's domain - desert, mostly, Rae was the victor here. The new denizens of Rae's domain either get to leave for another place, or adjust to the tough but fair life of their new god.

Idania has admittedly gone a bit stir crazy. She spent so much time in Rae's land, defending him or going to show off how great Rae can be that she's pretty much only seen desert for the last - what, year or so?

It's time for a change of pace. She checks with Rae, he agrees that she can get some time to herself, and then she packs her things. It's time to fly somewhere new, to a place she hasn't seen before with people she's never met. She expects to go far enough away that people won't know the name 'Raezenoth,' so she doesn't pack light. She expects to be doing a lot of sleeping outdoors, floating comfortably in the air where no one can touch her.

She's flying at full speed for about five days in a random direction before she lands for anything more than bathroom breaks and some occasional jogging to stay limber. When she does, she recognizes absolutely nothing about anything around her. Good. This is definitely far away and unrecognizable enough for her tastes. She checks her supplies - yeah, definitely enough to last for her to explore this place properly.

While she was flying, she stayed away from the domains of gods, not wanting any sort of trouble or drama associated with them. Now, though, she's going to explore the first nice one she sees. Another day of walking, later, and she comes across a place that's obviously a domain.

Sometimes gods directly address her when she enters, but not always. Only one way to find out. She heads inside without fear, to explore the temple and village nearby.

Idania giggles. "That must be fun to introduce yourself with. 'Hello, I an Viokai, I am the forest god of hugs and optimism!'"

"You know, I've tried to sum myself up like that, and I can never do it," he says. "I've tried 'love' but that just gives people the wrong idea."

[onthewind]

"A bit yeah. Hmmm. What's a good way to sum up what you do... Health, maybe? Vitality?"

[hisowninvention]

"Vitality," he repeats thoughtfully. "That's a good one, that's close. Less open to misinterpretation."

[onthewind]

"Okay, so in that vein - exuberance too, maybe?"

[hisowninvention]

"Exuberance! Vitality and exuberance. Also a good one. It doesn't say everything, but it says a lot."

[onthewind]

Idania gives a little bow. "I try!"

[hisowninvention]

"Aww, I'm gonna hug you again." He hugs her again.

[onthewind]

She laughs, and hugs him back. "I don't know of a fancy godly way to word hugging, I'm afraid," she giggles.

"Falls under 'love', maybe. I keep coming back to that one even though when I say it it doesn't mean the things to whoever I'm talking to that it does to me."

"Oh? What's different?"

[hisowninvention]

"What I'm trying to get at with it is something like... I like people. I want to help them, I want them to be happy, and also I just like them existing and going around being themselves all the time. That kind of liking people for who they are, and wanting to hug them and help them and see them do whatever it is they want to be doing, that's the kind of love that I feel. And it would be a perfect way to summarize me if there was just a word for it, but there's not."

[onthewind]

"Hmmmmm. Okay, uh - god of caretaking? Custodian? Wait, no, that makes you sound like a janitor, hmmmm..."

He giggles. "See? It's hard!"

[onthewind]

"Gah, it is! Curator? Human rights activist? God of - happiness? Joy? Shirtlessness?"

[hisowninvention]

Vio laughs. "I wouldn't exactly object to being called a god of shirtlessness, but somehow I don't think it covers the main points."

[onthewind]

"Damnation! I thought that was the one!"

[hisowninvention]

He giggles some more.

[onthewind]

"Yeah, I'm not sure what else would work, sorry. Now it'll bother me, I'll show up in a month or so with a list, just watch."

[hisowninvention]

"I look forward to it!"

[onthewind]

"That's the spirit! Fair warning, there will be weird things on the list, like chocolate bunny master, or something. Or Viokai the facepainted."

[hisowninvention]

"Well, at least the second one's accurate," he says cheerfully.

[onthewind]

"I could get you a legion of chocolate bunnies. Then the first one would be accurate, too!"

[hisowninvention]

"Where are you going to get a legion of chocolate bunnies?" he snorts. "No, wait, don't tell me. I want it to be a surprise. Just show up one day with a cartload of them."

"Don't know yet, but I'll figure it out," says Idania. "Just watch, I'll do it, too."
